Sussex County Foster Parent Association
The Sussex County Foster Parent Association is a 501C non-profit volunteer run organization which was founded in 2005. We work closely with the Division of Family Services to build lasting relationships between foster children and foster families of Sussex County. The mission of the SCFPA is to aid, enrich, and educate foster families and help children in care meet their full potential. All of our events and trainings are absolutely free for foster parents and foster children!
We aid by providing car seats, clothing, blankets, personal care items, backpacks, tablets, cribs, and fill other needs of children.
We educate by providing training for foster parents throughout the year, helping foster parents meet the minimum required training hours each year, in addition to CPR/First Aide certification; we encourage our foster tween-teens to also attend our training events.
We enrich by providing family fun events designed to enrich and strengthen family bonds, promote normalcy for children in foster care, and host monthly foster parent meetings.
We are active in our communities and work with local churches, business owners, charities, and other non-profits to do all we can to support our kids in care.
